About Us

HelpWithMyParents.org was founded in 2006 by Tony Morrison, the founder of http://HelpWIthMyKids.org and http://myseniorservices.com  The site shares the same ambitious goal of getting caregivers and organizations to participate in the process of improving access to information and services.

The long-term goal was, and remains, to provide a single website that can provide comprehensive informative content and information about service providers across the whole country.   The idea is that a person who lives anywhere in the country can know all of the options that are available to them, and their aging parent(s), who may live on the other side of the country.  

This is an enormous task, and it was two years before the site was published to the web. The thing that finally allowed Tony and his team to feel comfortable publishing the site was the decision to make all of the content pages into wikis (pages that can be edited by users), and to allow service providers to submit their own information to the site. In the time since the site was launched steady progress has been made, but there is much that still needs to be done.

A decision was made early in the project that for a website like HelpWithMyParents.org to be useful it must provide free comprehensive and unencumbered access to users. Therefore the site does not require people to log in to use the site and there is no charge for providers to be listed on the site. The management team feels strongly that having free unencumbered access is the strength of Help With My Parents.  The commitment to those who use the site is that they will never be charged to use the site and that all legitimate businesses and organizations will be listed on the site at no charge.

The revenue required to continue to update and maintain the website comes from the inexpensive and unobtrusive advertising that is on many of the pages.  Any business or organization that wishes to have more of a presence on the site can secure any of the available advertising spots for $29 a month.  Once an advertising spot is secured on a page, the ad will appear everytime the page is loaded as long as the monthly fee is paid.  The contracts are month to month so there is no long-term committment.  To learn more or to advertise now click here
